Weekly Update: December 3-8, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

This has been one crazy week, but I loved every minute of it. I have seen
many miracles happen in this short time I've been here in my new area. I
have already started to learn many n ew things and have many great
experiences. I have learned a lot about God, my faith, and my humility. In
my setting apart blessing before my mission one thing it said was that all
the desires of my heart would come to pass at the right timing. Throught my
mission there have been things I have desired, but I lacked the faith to
get them. I had the mindset that anything I wanted I wasn't going to get
because that's not how things worked out for me in life. As I progressed in
my mission and learned more about turning my will over to God's I realized
that if my will is God's will than the desires of my heart will be things
he wants to give me, then they I will receive them at the right time in my
life. I wanted to train, then I became a trainer. I wanted to purge an
area, be a STL to help other sisters, and drive a truck (I know that sounds
silly). All those things have come to pass this transfer. Now I have to
remain humble and continue to do God's will. If any of these things were
taken away, I would be okay with it because I know that God does everything
for a reason.

This week has been insane. First with Sister Howard my greenie, meeting her
greenie and spending a day with her. Then transfers, with a new area and a
new companion. I love my new ward already and am starting to see miracles
happen. We have recieved a few referrals this week. One of which was a
media referral of someone I actually contacted down town. She is in the
hostital right now, but we are planning to go visit her if that's possible.
Other referrals from the members have been given to us that seem very
solid. Coming into an area that loved the previous Elders and hasn't had
sister in the ward for a long time is different, but I love it. Everyone is
warm and friendly and excited to see us.

We may not live in the nicest, or cleansest apartment (we are working on
deep cleaning it after Elders have lived in it for atleast 5 years), but
that doesn't matter to me. I am here to to do the Lord's work and find
those he has prepared for the gospel. We may get lost and not know where
our ward boundaries are at times, but we still push thru and never get
discouraged. In fact each time we get lost we learn something new about our
area that will help us in the future, like we won't be able to find free
parking down town.

I don't know much about being a STL, but I'm excited to learn from Sister
Jones. We plan to meet them at their ZTM tomorrow. I know this transfer is
going to be great! I'm going to learn a lot of new things, see lots of
miracles, and help many people come unto Christ. I know this church is
true. God truly lives and knows me perfectly. If I have faith and am
following his will, God will bless me with the desires of my heart. I know
this church is true. I know the Book of Mormon is true also. I love this
opportunity I have to share the gospel with others.
Love Sister Barton
